Carbide Tools

All B&J Carbide tools are available in all standard grit sizes. We offer a wide range of different tools for every imaginable type of operation.

Carbide Types and Grits

Choosing the right carbide tool and grit is very important for the efficiency and quality of the work. Carbide, also known as tungsten carbide, is an extremely hard material that is available in different grits for different applications. The grit refers to the size of the abrasive particles on the tool and can vary from very fine to very coarse. Fine grits are ideal for precise, detailed work, while coarse grits are better suited for quickly removing material. When making your selection, you should consider the specific area of application, such as the hardness of the material to be processed and the desired surface finish. A comprehensive overview of the different grit variants can help you find the optimal tool for the respective application and thus achieve the best possible work results.

4 types for different applications

The COPPER carbide tools are among the standard carbide tools from B&J. With these tools, the grit is applied to flat, partially perforated or slotted base members. Dimensional accuracy and concentricity without vibration are a trademark of all B&J carbide tools.

  • Optimized number and placement of cooling holes and slots
  • No contamination of the rubber
  • Runs without vibrations

When manufacturing Steel Shot Grit tools, more or less fine metal balls are applied to the base body. This prevents protruding tips like with the Copper grit. SSG tools are particularly suitable for sensitive work where a fine, even surface is desired, for example on the inner liner.

In contrast to Copper carbide tools, Patriot buffing tools have a convex/concave surface. With this design, the tools develop a higher air circulation, which results in a significantly cooler work surface and a significantly cooler tool. These properties increase the service life and cost-effectiveness of the tools.

The Super PATRIOT carbide tools combine the special properties of SSG Grit and Patriot base member. Super Patriot tools provide an optimal surface and optimized service life also for sensitive work applications.
